I'm using JIRA Misc Workflow Extensions on SERVER :
I'm trying to transition Issuetype A in Project X - when Issuetype B in Project Y is complete. A & B are linked as - B tests A.
After configuring the transition ID (I tried with Transition Name as well) and specifying the link type as Tests in a Postfunction on B, I find that there is no error message, but the Transition to A which should have happened - when B was transitioned, does not happen. Its not working.
I can't figure out what the error is - is this a bug?
I managed to fix this myself, posting the solution here for anyone that might have a similar issue:
On the other workflow (the issue that needs to be transitioned automatically), I had added a condition to hide that transition from the user to prevent it from being done manually.
Now, in order to hide the transition from user (so that only the test plan certification can progress the current issue to Certified), after you add the Condition - it gives you an option - any of the following conditions or all of the following conditions
i had previously let it remain the default "All of the following conditions" and this wasn't working. I changed it to "Any" and now the automatic linked issue transitioning works.
This is what the log says:
"2016-01-15 11:19:10,071 http-bio-443-exec-343 WARN MPandya 678x26050x8 huwsgy 10.250.165.75 /secure/WorkflowUIDispatcher.jspa [jmwe.plugins.functions.TransitionLinkedIssuesFunction] Field validation error auto-transitioning linked issue WT-18:
2016-01-15 11:19:10,071 http-bio-443-exec-343 WARN MPandya 678x26050x8 huwsgy 10.250.165.75 /secure/WorkflowUIDispatcher.jspa [jmwe.plugins.functions.TransitionLinkedIssuesFunction] Action 81 is invalid"
There's no other field validation required, and 81 is the transition that should be executed on the other issue. Why is the transition invalid?
