How to use filter in url ?

Hello, I'm a new jira user and I'm trying to import data using a filter in my url but it doesn't work.

I have already created the filter on JIRA (it is private) must it be passed in public for it to work?

Anyone know how to do this?

Here an example of my url

https://constellation.xxxxx/jira1/rest/api/2/search?jql=filter=name_of_my_filter
