Awaiting Release part of Done

Hello folk,

we have number of steps for our jira board and the last two steps are "Awaiting Release" then "Done" and treated both of them under "Done" category. My question how we can make the ticket as semi Done once it's moved to "Awaiting Release" so it can be counted in the burn down chart, and once we are released we will change it to "Done".

Hi there, JIRA "burns" your tickets when they map to a status in the last column on the board. Adding that status to the last column will "burndown" the ticket.

If your team is only making sure that items get to "Awaiting Release" you might consider making the "Awaiting release" your only status in the last column and placing "Done" off the board to the right. You could then create a secondary board, mapping the "awaiting release" status in this 2nd board to an "in progress" column to indicate it is not complete there and Done to the last column to give you total ticket burndown cycle time to use the board reporting. Basically a Board is built around Team metrics. If you want ticket metrics you may be better off running a ticket cycle time gadget to assess "time to Done". Just some options :)

thank you for your question.
First, you could change the type of the Status from "Done" to "in Progress" type.

Second, make sure the resolution is not set in this stage (Awaiting Release) - otherwise Jira will understand that the life cycle of your issue is completed and it will strikethrough your issue.
