Unable to find or add user in Watcher List in new JIRA view

Hi Guys,

 

How do you add watchers in new Jira view? When I click add watchers and start to search for a person to add - the search does not give any results.

Hello Maria,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

Please, check if the settings below are properly configured:

1 - Navigate to your project > Project Settings > Permissions > Check if you have the permission to Manage Watchers and View Voters and Watchers.

2 - Navigate to JIRA Settings > System > Global Permissions and check if you have the Browse users and groups permission

3 - Double check if the users you are trying to add as watchers can effectively access/see the JIRA issue.

I have the same issue.

Point 1 and 2 are OK

However I'm not sure for the 3.

My usecase is "simple" (I Guess), I recieved  many time the same request about maintenance request. I would like to merge ticket into one only by adding other customer user's as watcher.

But they can't (at first I guess) get access to a ticket they do not open, so how could we merge ticket ?

close as duplicate ?

Use Request participants first does not change anything..

Any suggestion ?
