I don't know if it is intended to be like this but for us as a team, the new jira view is a mess.
We work with fix version, etc. All this is not there anymore and we get scared, that the old vie is getting switched off, before it's on the level like the old view.
Linking issues - a basic feature of jira is somehow hidden, did not find it yet...
What can we expect? Soft transition with no work on our side or complete mess which will cost us time and money?
The new issue view is still being worked on by Atlassian. There is a give feedback option at the top right. I strongly suggest using that. Atlassian is typically responsive when it comes to feedback.
In regards to the link issue button, it should be listed right under the tickets summary. You can see this in the below screenshot.
Each user is able to disable this view as well. If they click their profile < Personal Settings < and scroll to Jira Labs, they can change the toggle switch to off for the new issues view.
