Reporter Field does not export in correct format to Excel

When selecting DOWNLOAD to Excel CSV Format with ALL Current Field Options from a custom filter, the Reporter Field displays a code like:

Instead of the real name of the reporter.  This seems like a big bug in Jira. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Hello Eric,

The issue you are facing is not a bug, but an expected behavior from JIRA Cloud application. Please, allow me to explain it:

JIRA Cloud CSV export functionality has always exported user picker fields with the username of the respective user.

Due to changes in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we’ve been updating how we store customer information in Jira Service Desk. To protect customer privacy, these changes include replacing personally-identifiable usernames with randomly generated hashes in the format qm:<alphanumeric-hash>, as mentioned in this documentation:

These usernames are only generated for portal-only customer accounts and are a temporary change while we finish our GDPR-related work.

That been said, we are currently working on a solution to bring you a more user-friendly/readable information in this field. You can check our developers progress in the feature request below:

Include the email address instead of the QM code for JSD customers on the CSV export

Feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.

For now, we can only suggest you navigate to your user management (Or ask your Admin) or directly to the issue view to manually see the name of the customer which has that QM code.

Let me know if you still have any questions.
