I want to set up an automation or trigger, but I am not seeing the option?

I am wanting to set up an automation or trigger that when a sub-task type is created, a custom field is auto populated from that of the Parent Task. We have Jira server, so maybe that is why I am not seeing "Automation". I am an admin, but it is not on a project or global level. 
Is there a trigger with part of the workflow scheme that can accomplish this same thing?

Troubleshooting is when you believe it is configured/setup correctly but it doesn't work as expected and you need to figure out if you did something wrong or something is broken in the case of hardware. How to articles tells you how to configure or set it up.
