Please take a look at Easy Issue & Subtask Templates. It's quite similar and available for Jira Cloud. In addition to subtask-only templates, you can even create templates for epics with issues and subtasks. 

The app is also recommended by the vendor of Quick Subtasks, as you can see here.

As Mirek points out there is an open feature request. There is no schedule for a possible rewrite/migration of this plugin yet.

3 years later, isn't there a schedule?
There is definitely value to this, and it could certainly be monetized.
