We have Jira Software v 8.4.2 and We update Jira Core 8.4.1 to 8.4.2 but when It start not work and message is: "System pluguins to start: We haven't been able to start all the required system pluguins"
Try to roll back to the previous version, and write a request to the Atlassian support. Perhaps the update has bugs, or your instance could not update normally without support some custom settings.
