Is it possible to split two projects that have shared configuration?

As a timesaver, I have created a "software" type project that shares its configuration with another "software" type project (both in same sandbox), both using Kanban boards.

Is there a way to now split these two so that they no longer have a shared configuration but would still continue to function independently?

With thanks,

Joe

Hi @Joe90 ,

By "shared configuration" I am assuming you mean the two projects share the same schemes for fields, screens, permissions, issue types, etc., correct?

If so then you just need to copy the schemes, rename them so you know which one goes to which project, then associate the new copied schemes to the correct project. Once you do that any changes to make to one of the configuration schemes will only impact the project it is associated with.

Hope that helps,

-Scott

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your prompt response, apology for the delay in replying; things got a bit hectic Friday.

Yes, your assumption was correct, and your advice worked.

Thank you,

-Joe

In addition to Scott's answer above, any other “new starter” that find themselves here, you might also find the following link on copying permissions useful:
