How to create templates like in Trello?

We are moving from Trello to Jira.

We have template boards in Jira. These have standard lists and tasks that we use for a standard project type.

What is the best way to get the same functionality in Jira?

For server, you could create an app that provides a "project template". For Cloud, I don't believe there is anything that can do this.
