How to add picture to comment during transition

Hi,

We're new to Jira, but have set up a good workflow with most transitions having a screen that includes assignee & comment. The idea is that users should try to use the transitions instead of assinging and commenting alone. That way status is always up to date + one update will only genereate one notification instead of three (change of assignee, comment and change of status)

However - when e.g transfering a issue from "in development" to "ready for QA" I'd like to be able to add a descriptive guide on how to test the issue, often with a screenshot showing expected behaviour. The problem is that the inline editor in the screen is different from the one in the issue view

Issue view:

Transition Screen

Is this something that can be fixed somehow? And is it a bug or a feature ;)?

Hello Per-Åge,

How are you? I hope you are having a nice day.

The transition screen fields are still using the wiki style renderer, while the new issue view uses markdown format.

Since the new issue view feature is still been implemented on JIRA workflow transition screens, you can work around this problem by performing the steps below:

- Navigate to JIRA Settings > Issues > Screens > Click to edit your transition screen and add the attachment field to your screens

- Once you add the Attachment field, you will be able to copy and paste files and a reference will be added to the attachment, adding the image to the comment

Let us know if this option helps. :)

Hello Petter,

is there any actual plan for implementing the New Issue View comment editor on JIRA workflow transition screens?

Hello @Rostislav Harazin

We created the following feature request to get this lack properly addressed in Jira:

Comment field on new issue view into the "transition screen" appear with the old issue view render
