How can I grab a Slack thread and make it a ticket on my Confluence board?

I need to capture a Slack thread and create a Jira ticket on a specific workflow board. Suggestions?

Hi @Sherri Hoffman - if you are looking to capture the contents of the thread to the message in Jira you won't be able to use the Jira Cloud app as @Jimmy Seddon suggested because that feature doesn't exist.   The cloud app will capture the first message but not the subsequent thread of conversation.

At Nextup.ai we do have this feature and you can check out how it works on our workflow page for this process - https://www.nextup.ai/workflows/capture-slack-threads-in-jira

We are a paid app but we offer a free 14-day trial.

If it is not clear, I am part of the team at Nextup.

@Nick Cron I don't know if I would go as far as to say you "won't" be able to use it.

Yes, you would need to use the "add to issue" command for each message in the slack thread to include it in the Jira issue.

But, that's usually the case when something is completely free.

Hi @Sherri Hoffman,

Welcome to the Community!

I would recommend checking out the Slack app that Atlassian has created as it is free.

I hope that helps!
