Design docs and API docs to create UI Component Library

sara.fernandez January 16, 2020

Hello everyone,

I would like to know it's possible to integrate a Design system (Design documentation) and an API documentation in Atlassian for other products. I really like the way that Atlassian has designed his own Design system.

Here you can find it: Atlassian Guideline Product

Do anyone have an idea is this is possible? and how can it be done?

How can we created a Design System Manager (DSM) in Atlassian?.

Do they have an article/post of how they did it?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @saraadelalshora

Thanks for your kind words. We're glad you like the Atlassian Design Guidelines, Atlaskit and their corresponding websites.

Both atlassian.design and atlaskit.atlassian.com are custom built sites. The ADG site is built on top a CMS and the majority of the the Atlaskit site is generated directly from source code. They both use different parts of the Atlaskit library under the hood.

So, I don't have an article to point you to, I'm afraid. An option would be to create a space with a similar page tree in Confluence and use images and code blocks to document your system.

Good luck!
