I have Board1 configured to show tickets from project1 and project2. project2 is a team managed project, all other projects are company managed.
Board1 currently has sprint3 active.
all issue types in project1 appear in Board1 and Sprint3, including sub tasks.
no sub tasks from project2 show up anywhere except on the related story.
Things I have already checked -
1. Board filter includes sub tasks, and on the filter screen the sub tasks I want to see are showing up.
2. sub tasks are definitely in sprint3, creating new sub tasks to test, and mass updating the sprint field has not worked.
3. swim lanes are configured by project, however no swimlane configuration (I tried all of them) will get sub tasks from project2 showing up
4. all task statuses have a column assigned.
to make things worse, sub tasks used to show up in sprints in project2, but the second I tried to make them visible in sprint3 they became invisible. even new stories / sub tasks created in project 2 have invisible sub tasks now, no matter what sprint they are associated with.
any advice?
Hello @Lloyd Bullard
Scrum boards created from filters that include Team Managed projects are not able to display the subtasks for Team Managed issues.
There may be a change request about that, but I'm not currently finding one.
Regarding your secondary issue where you said the subtasks used to be visible in "sprint 3", is that a sprint created in the native Team Managed project board, or in another board created from a filter?
thanks for the help, unfortunately after a lot of digging my issue relates to an outstanding bug with how JIRA team managed projects work - search for JSWCLOUD-18064 (it wont let me paste in the link)
so, there is no solution except to switch to company managed projects if I want to do this, or take a different approach entirely.

Hello all,
Thank you for watching, voting, and commenting on this issue.
We use this data as well as many other inputs to feed into our prioritisation process. Being able to show subtasks as cards on the Board view without using grouping will be something that will be available in Team-managed Projects, although it is not something that we will be focusing on in the next year. We want to share this with you to ensure you can plan out your use of projects within Jira Software effectively.
In the short-term, we recommend teams use Company-Managed Projects if this is an absolute must for you. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause you.
Please continue to vote and in particular please continue to add comments on how your team would find value when having subtasks as cards on the Board view without using grouping. This contextual information about what you are doing and why you are doing it is invaluable for us in providing you with a product that will grow with your needs.
Thank you,
Eoin Ryan
