Hello Community! 👋
Since the start of the year, we launched several updates to make Atlassian Automation more powerful and user friendly. In this post, we wanted to recap all the improvements and new features we introduced in the last few months. We are constantly listening to our users for feedback on how to improve. Keep reading to make sure you didn't miss out on leveraging these recent updates!
In February, we brought Automation to Confluence Cloud Premium and Enterprise editions! You no longer have to spend valuable time and effort on repetitive tasks to manage your content across multiple Confluence sites. Now you can leverage Automation to help you with those tasks, saving you valuable time and effort! Please read this announcement blog for more details!
We've made changes to the way you access Custom Actions (manual automation rules) in Jira Automation. You can now find them in the Actions menu, located right next to the Status option. This update will make it faster and easier for you to locate the manual triggers you've created without having to search for them. For more information on Custom Actions and manually triggered rules please check out this blog!
Our Lookup Table feature is a powerful tool that lets you create pairs of keys and their associated values. You can reference these pairs later on in other actions, which can significantly reduce the complexity and number of If/Else blocks. Best of all, you can use smart values to create these, making the feature even more flexible. For example, you can use Lookup Table to map Jira project keys to Slack channels, simplifying your workflow and saving you time. Please check out this blog for more details on how this works!
We added 10 new templates to our Automation template library in Jira! These templates will make it easier for you to get started with automation, allowing you to quickly set up and accelerate your projects. These new templates cover a wide range of scenarios, from basic automated email reminders to more complex ticket management across projects. You can give them a try in our public Automation Playground!
Our new Duplicate feature allows you to create copies of a configured component with just one click within your rules. This eliminates the need to manually recreate each component, saving you time and effort. This feature will help you streamline your automation process and create automation rules with ease, so you can focus on more important tasks. Learn more about it this feature here!
We have introduced a new in-product help feature to offer better guidance for using smart values and complex components. With this new feature, you don't need to switch between tabs or manage multiple pages anymore. The latest documentation about the component you're using is now one click away so that you can find help quickly, right where you need it. This will provide a consistent experience that feels familiar to our Jira and Confluence users.
Currently, this is available to a subset of components within Jira Automation, with more to come in the near future.
We've recently updated the Rules list in Atlassian Automation to include an Updated column. This new column makes it easier for you to find your last modified rules. You can now filter your rules to find the oldest updated or newest updated rules first, depending on your needs. With this new feature, you can quickly locate the rules you need to work on or review, saving you valuable time and effort. We hope this update makes managing your automation rules more convenient and efficient. You can learn more about this feature here.
Scrolling within the Rule builder is now updated to make it easier to work with long rules! You can now scroll the rules summary independently to the component screen. We are listening to your feedback from big to small, and it delights us to make improvements like these to make your experience more enjoyable!
We are currently working on more exciting updates based on your valuable feedback. Stay tuned for more details on investments we are making towards Atlassian Automation! 🥳
