I am leaving my company very soon.
It just so happend that I was the one who created atlassian site and jira software project.
I have give site-admin access to other user, but it seems that I can just pass site ownership to them, or to leave site myself
I would be happy to still have my account and just give site ownership to my colleague
Hello @[deleted],
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
There are some details that you need to update to transfer the ownership of the site and the new administrator then will be able to remove your account once you leave the company.
First, you need to add a new billing and technical contact, even if it’s a free site, it’s important to do that in case they decide to change the plan to Standard or Premium in the future.
For that, please, go to https://my.atlassian.com/products/index
Then, add their email address to both Technical and Billing Contacts.
Then, go to https://admin.atlassian.com/ where you will see all the Organizations you are an admin of. Click on the desired Organization > Settings > Administrators > Add administrators.
Adding an Org admin is important because only an Org admin can add another and since you are the only one and your email address is not from a custom domain, it will be very complicated for your teammates to get access in case you leave the company without adding them as Org admin.
For more detailed steps about it, please check the article below:
If you have any other questions regarding this matter, please let us know.
Kind regards,
Angélica
I've done everything mentioned, but couldn't change my role from org.admin to something else and could't leave the site, project etc.
Had to delete my account in order to re-create it with the same e-mail adress.
