Hello all,
I'm starting with Jira Cloud and created some epics, user stories, etc.
All the epic labels except one are plain, converted to upper case letters. Just one was turned into a link-like version.
When selecting that epic in other issues, it's got a different colour (blue, while all others are dark grey).
Any chance to change it?
Cheers
Hello @robbash,
Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!
On Jira Software Cloud there are Classic and Next-gen project and the Epic links are different for each type of project.
Epics in Classic project will show as the "Frontend" label and in Next-gen, the Epics will show as the uppercase tag, like the "Administration".
You can find more information on the thread below:
If that's not the case, can you please give us more details about your backlog? I see that there are Epic links on Epics, but to be honest, I couldn't do that on my test site.
If possible, can you share a screenshot of the entire backlog? Just make sure to hide sensitive information.
Regards,
Angélica
Thanks a lot @Angélica Luz , that's exactly what happened. ;)
I haven't found a way to unset the colour, do you know if that's even possible?
Cheers

All the Epics have a color, by default on the new issue view or next-gen, it's purple.
You can change the color directly in the ticket by clicking on the color:
If you are using a classic project, you can also change it by clicking on Epics (Epic panel) on the backlog and then clicking on the color selector:

I think I created the epics by converting existing issues so that they then had grey with CAPS labels. One then was assigned a colour and seems like we cannot change it back. Anyway, this is now more out of interest rather than an issue.
Thanks!

@robbash Our team just encountered the same epic label formatting question - and I experimented with your question of how to remove the color on an epic once you've assigned it. I found a way but it's a lot of work:
The result will be a new epic label with the gray background, all caps, and bold font. But obviously, depending on your configuration converting epics to stories may break other things. And like I said, this is a lot of steps just for formatting.
