won't do tickets always moved to the next sprint

Marc Dirrenberger September 2, 2024

"Won't do" tickets aren't automatically removed from the sprint and always moved to the next one. How can I change that? Is it via the Workflow?

Hi @Marc Dirrenberger , based on what you have posted I am guessing that the won't do issues are not in the right most column of your board. Only issues in the right most column Will be considered complete. Personally I use the Resolution field to indicate the type of "Done" such as done, won't do, cannot reproduce, etc.. This helps avoid the scenario you're experiencing. Of course you can simply add the won't do status into the right as well.

Thank you! How can I use the Resolution filed to indicate the type of "Done" such as won't do? Is it in the Field configurations?

Well I should have asked upfront, are you using a team managed or company managed project? This is illustrated in the lower left corner. If you are on a team managed project, you do not have the option. The resolution is set to done when you move the issue to the done/closed status. This is illustrated by the checkmark beside the status. In Company managed Projects you can add a screen to the transition to done that will display the resolution field and you can add a validator to that same transition to require the user to select  from the drop-down that is presented. There are a lot of posts in the community that detail this.

We are on a company managed project. Ok I will investigate and try to find a post with the detail on how to do this.

Thank you!
