Hi Team,

I have a question we are planning to migrate 2 jira instance. jira core sever(7.10) to JIRA cloud. where our vendor is saying "For versions prior to 7.13.1, all timestamps (including the created date on issues and history dates) will be interpreted as UTC. This means that timezone differences are not taken into account when importing a JIRA Server backup into Cloud."

Can any one give me details what is UTC? we are using Default user time zone (GMT-05:00) New York.

Please suggest some help.

Thanks,

Prakhar

It is Coordinated Universal Time - it's a baseline for other time zones, they're all offsets against it.   For now, and the foreseeable future, it's locked to GMT (the name gets rid of the geographical implication of Greenwich - especially since there are now many places with that name, not just a London borough, soon to be mostly under water)
