After set "Base URL" for jira, system show this message("Error Occured,Unable to retrieve data from server, see log detaile) for all updates (create issue, assign issue, attachment file, change status,...).
I see atlassian-log from server and search "Caused By: " message , and did not get any results,This error still remain.
please help me to rersolve this.
thanks
Hi,
I understand that you have recently changed the Base URL value in the administration panel of Jira, and since that time you appear to be getting some kind of error.
I am interested to learn more about this problem. Where exactly do you see this error? Is this in the browser? Or in a log of Jira's? The atlassian-jira.log file can sometimes contain related errors, but the 'caused by' string you are searching for here is only displayed for specific stacktrace error messages. It could be that the error you are seeing here is not logged in that specific file, but might be more of a browser specific error.
One thing to check when making a change like this: Can the Jira server itself reach that base url network address? It might sound silly to ask that question, but Jira is commonly hosted behind a proxy or load balancer, and many times admins want to set the base URL to a public address like jira.example.com
But if the Jira application is being restricted from reaching that outside network address over http or https, then it can cause some strange behavior where the Jira site might not work correctly. We have another KB that can explain another error and possible causes here that all relate to the site being unable to reach it's base url address, please see How to fix gadget titles showing as __MSG_gadget.
Try these steps and let me know the results.
Andy
