shall I also add the field to the screen after configuring it in a context?

Hello guys,

after adding a custom field to a context to appear only in stories, shall I also add the field to the screen even if the screen is shared between many othr issue types?

I have added the custom field to a context to only stories and the field does not appear in stories.

thanks a lot ^^

Hi @Ben Rejab Rim

Yes, the context setting will not automatically display the field on an issue. It is the screens and the layout configuration that ensures that the field is visible on an issue.

Context can however be used to hide a field for a particulas issue type.  If you share screens for two issue types and then the context only allows the field to be visible for one of them, the other issue type will not display the field.

all the best

Lisa
