renamed tasks show up as deleted tasks along with newly renamed tasks

When a JIRA is renamed and imported into MS Project, I get 2 tasks.  The deleted task (~dtp.AS-6047) and the newly renamed task (FC1- AS-6047).  The hours stay with the old deleted task and don't come over in the new task so I can't delete the old task.  Also, the dates don't come across as the same from the old task name and the new.  How can I resolve this?  Do I delete the old task and manually copy the hours to the new task?  Will I have to do that for all 50 tasks that were renamed - every time I re-import or update?

I import using the JIRA connector that has been configured for my project, then I just hit update JIRA and update all.  Are you thinking it has something to do with a setting in the connector?  If so, what setting?  I can list the settings if that would help.

How did you import JIRA issues into MS Project?
