How to change work flow for bugs only in active sprint without delete bugs?

There are other routes through this, but this is probably the shortest and clearest to explain:

Copy or create the workflow you want to use for bugs.
Copy the workflow scheme you are currently using in the project.
Adjust the new workflow scheme so that it says "for bugs, use my new workflow"
Go into the project settings and find the workflow section. Edit it and select the new workflow scheme.
If the old and new workflows are not compatible because you have removed status, Jira will ask you questions about how to map status.
