query when configuring board

in configuring board window, there is one item-Ranking, the option is "using rank", may I know with what for ranking? many thanks!

Ranking is the practice of ordering issues on your backlog, in your sprint or on your board.

Jira provides a way to order and prioritize issues. On a board, simply drag an issue above or below another issue to determine ranking.

Ranking is a global concept. Issues are ranked against other issues regardless of their Jira project, issue type, or associated board.
