I think our JIRA environment got updated or something. Now when I click a link to a JIRA in my list, it opens a right window in the same page with the JIRA showing there instead of opening the JIRA in a new tab like it used to. Is there a way to set my default to open the JIRA in a new tab instead of a side panel?
Can you provide more context on your post, adding screenshots will help to show what you exactly mean.
If it's like the issue is not opeinng op top of you board, us the double arrow button on the issue, it should be on top right of the issue.
This can't be used on the List view, here this is not possible.
This is change that has been announced, I just can't seem to find the post around this.
In the screenshot below, I clicked the JIRA and it opens now on the right in the same page, not in a new tab like it used to. Is it possible to change this? I know I can click the arrow to open it in a new tab, but that's an extra step I don't want to have to take. Thanks for your reply here.

Thanks, but that's what I don't want to do. I know to do that, I don't want it in that side window ever at all. I see that Atlassian has changed this from what it used to do. Thanks for the help.

Hello @Desiree_Anson
If you referer to work Items....
This changes was announced here Preview Panels will soon replace the detail view i... - Atlassian Community
Atlassian has paused part of that rollout while it adds a larger modal and navigation between work items. There is also a temporary site opt-out route for customers whose workflows are materially affected.
If you mean something other, it may be browser-specific.
Best,
Arek🤠
