one or both, JIRA Software covering Core ?

Deleted user December 8, 2017

I am evaluating 7.6 and conducting quite a few 'trying', just realize I see

JIRA Core 7.6.1 is now available. under JIRA Core 7.6.0 where I don't have any license because JIRA Software containing the trial license.

My understanding was JIRA Software covering Core, so I installed Software, no bother to deal with Core, correct me if I am wrong, please ?

Jira Software is an application that is installed on top of Jira Core.

You can do three things here:

  • Get Core licences.  The users with these will only be able to use Jira functions (you might as well uninstall Software)
  • Get Software licences.  Users with these will have full access to Jira functions and be able to use all the Software features too
  • Get a set of both.  Everyone will have access to Jira functions, but those who take up the software licences will be able to use Software too.

Crystal!  thank you so much, @Nic Brough -Adaptavist-

you help me make the decision, the middle one in your list,  ignoring 'core' for now as it covered.
