one or both, JIRA Software covering Core ?

I am evaluating 7.6 and conducting quite a few 'trying', just realize I see

JIRA Core 7.6.1 is now available. under JIRA Core 7.6.0 where I don't have any license because JIRA Software containing the trial license.

My understanding was JIRA Software covering Core, so I installed Software, no bother to deal with Core, correct me if I am wrong, please ?

Jira Software is an application that is installed on top of Jira Core.

You can do three things here:

Get Core licences. The users with these will only be able to use Jira functions (you might as well uninstall Software)
Get Software licences. Users with these will have full access to Jira functions and be able to use all the Software features too
Get a set of both. Everyone will have access to Jira functions, but those who take up the software licences will be able to use Software too.
