multiline textfield has issues

1. Epic – Not visible in new view, old view need to go to edit and give some values to make this visible. Once the value is given then it is rendered in new view as well.
2. Story – Without any value given in the field by default security description field is shown in new view , Not shown in Old View
3. Bug same as story.

One more issue non editable field - We are able to edit the non editable field

Hello Radhika,

I believe you are describing display problems about any custom multiline text fields in both JIRA views. Is it correct?

I checked the behaviors you mentioned and I found the following:

1 - Epic – Not visible in new view, old view need to go to edit and give some values to make this visible. Once the value is given then it is rendered in new view as well.

Actually, my text multiline fields display just fine in the new view, with or without any values, while it displays in the Old issue view ONLY if it has any values, just like expected:

That being said, I recommend you to navigate to your project > Project settings > Issue layout and check if the field is properly added to your Epics.

2 - Story – Without any value given in the field by default security description field is shown in new view , Not shown in Old View

Indeed, the old issue view only displays fields with values, hiding the ones that do not have any values and letting you fill that field by clicking on the edit option. This was the default behavior in the old issue view, while the new view displays the fields independent if it has or not any values.
