mixed case user name in ldap causes Jira issue 6.2.5

Jenin Mohan

Hi All,

I have a user in Ldap with Mixed case username for eg. NAme. The said user is not able to access any filters in JIRA, he gets system error everytime he tries to access his issues or filters.

Our JIRA version is 6.2.5. Do we have any resolution for this so that JIRA could accept mixed case username?

Thanks and Regards,

Jenin Mohan

This may not be an answer but a question first, how sure are you that is the username that is causing the issue? I asked this because I think it would not matter on what case a username is as long as it has the appropriate permission/role in the project. Our team is using LDAP too and we have IDs in mixed case/chars.

Also, how hard will it be to update the username in LDAP? Is this an isolated case or happening to all IDs with the same scenario?

Unless, there is a known issue with this right now that I am not aware of.
