missng capability in Jira plans

Hi,

We are using Jira server.

Teams are working SCRUM.

We use Jira Plans (formally portfolio)  to manage the progress - such as PI progress that includes all Epics per PI.

we would like to manage additional things and need a solution for those two items:

1. Option to set the epic summary on the epic progress bar.
    Today, you alwas neeed to scroll to the left side in order to see the issue name / summary.

2. option to manage milestones in Jira plans. My current solution is using a  new issuetype and assign same start / end date, so it will appear as milestone without a duration.

Any other better solutions?

For #1, there is no way out of the box to accomplish that. If you are open to using a 3rd party plugin, something like BigGantt can do both things you are looking for. 

For #2, we also have decided to use a custom issue type for Milestones and this has worked fine for our needs.
