We have just configured our first project in JIRA Agile and have got a lot of setup completed.  For some reason if I type @   then the username I am not getting any autocomplete or notifications.  Is this something i need to turn on?

Do you have "group X can browse users" enabled in "global permissions"?  And are you in one of the named groups?
