list all transitions for issues?

I'd like to generate a report (to excel) that gives me all the transitions and their dates for each issue in a set. Is that possible? If so, how?

It's not exactly what I was after, but it did give a hint to the answer - that will only be possible (apparently) once we upgrade JIRA..
