Can a Managed-account user have access to space similar to portal-only customer? Also, can we assign this Managed-account user to a space and be able to see it under Customers option under this assigned space.

If you will add Managed accounts to customer project role in space then yes, managed accounts users can access via portal.
When Managed-users will be added to Customer project role, they won't be visible in Customers tab
