hello, when I make a "pull request" from bitbucket the tasks in jira change status to "done".

is this always the case by default?

is there any way to change this?

Welcome to Atlassian Community.

Yes, this is expected if your workflow for your Jira project is using triggers. The predefined workflows by default have triggers that will move an issue in the workflow based on the integration to Bitbucket. You can disable this by going to the workflow and remove the trigger.
