issues saving images in Jira ticket comments

I am having issues saving images in a comment on a Jira ticket. if i save the comment with no images then this works correctly, but once i add an image in (either via copy/paste or image upload) when i click the save button nothing happens. Has anyone encountered this or have any ideas on how to resolve?
