is there a way to link a gadget in the dashboard to go on click to the board is picking data from?

I'm not aware of any gadgets that refer to boards, most of them use filters and link to them.  If you do have a gadget that refers to boards, then it would be up to the gadget.  If you're looking at gadgets that refer to filters, then they can't go to boards because there's no way of knowing which board to go to - filters can be used by many boards.
