Hi,
Our Default Access group is Access-Jira
This group is also needed to see e.g. Jira Plans.
Normally we get all our users through an indentity provider (IAM) and by default the user gets the group xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
If I create a user in Jira he always gets the default group Access-Jira.
How can I ensure that users who are created by our indentity provider also always get the group xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx but also the group Access-Jira?
Or is there a possibility to give the group xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx the rights that users with the group xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx can also see plans.
Greetings Eric
In short: is there a possibility to make group xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx equal to group Access-Jira
Hi @Eric Roetenberg ,
In short - yes. You could probably make them 'equal'. You would still need to have two separate groups as you can only set local groups as default access groups. (in the end, this could also be an empty one, or only for those users that are not synced from IdP)
Anyway, to get back to the topic. If you would navigate to Settings > Products > Permissions (under Plans), you should be able to add this IdP-provisioned group to "Plan User" or any other permission related to plans.
Quick link would be: https://<sitename>.atlassian.net/jira/plans/settings/permissions
And with that, I guess you'd only need this IdP-synced group.
Cheers,
Tobi
The only option that Atlassian provide to be able to make two groups “equal”, is for you to write a script with the Atlassian APIs and run it every so often.
An alternative is to use a 3rd party app, like Admin Automations, to do it for you.
Good luck!
