including description into release note

When including an issues description into the release notes, we fail to get the formatting with, I'm guessing this has something todo with the fact that the description field contains Markdown code, where as the release is only rendered as plain html/velocity template.

Does anybody have a solution for this please help

Try if the markdown is correctly exported with the PDF View Plugin. As that is transformed to HTML for the web presentation, probably that will be correctly exported to PDF, too.

If it is, consider using this plugin and its configurable Release Notes template for your problem.

Thank you very much, the PDF View Plugin did exactly what i whanted, parsing the markdown formatting, and thereby maintaining the notion that was intended

You will have to apply your own formatting on it no matter where you will put it - paste in a word document, email, PDF, confluence, etc...
