in the image you have provided what is that field you are focused on. there is not group field to search on. What are you trying to accomplish?

but there is not field called Group. in your image you show a field that appears to have "currentuser(),RI..." selected. Is this maybe the "Assignee" field or something else. You said your created a group but am wondering if maybe you create a user  "jira@ibm-emessage"?

Yes you are correct that is Assignee filed, here I selected current user that's why we are seeing current user in my first red box and third red box i selected the current user

if you can see the second red box mentioned place holder Find Users / Groups

I have created Group only

Please have a look at my new screenshot

ok got it thanks. i expect this is the Assignee field. So now where did you create the group? Is it under Jira settings > User management > Groups? What happens if you start to type in "jira@..."?

Hi Jack,

Thank for you extensive support on this

I am using Jira@IBM https://ibmemailrequest.atlassian.net

Nowhere I am seeing Jira settings > User management > Groups?

Please let me know how I can navigate to Groups with screenshots and links to get Jira settings > User management > Groups?

I have created the Group for  Jira@IBM

To create a group in Jira@IBM using IBM BlueGroups.

  1. Navigate to IBM BlueGroups and sign in with your w3id and password.
  2. Click New.
  3. Create a desired Group Name with "Jira@IBM-" at the start of the name:
  4. Create a Group Description, not required, but recommended.
  5. Select your preferred method for Building a Member List by:
    1. Selecting Individual Members From Search Results.
    2. Defining Common Properties.
  6. Select a desired Expiration Date.
  7. Click Create.
  8. Depending on which option you selected for Building a Member List, you can now add the members to the IBM BlueGroup.

after this when i search for my group "jira@ibm-emessage" it is not coming up in search results

Groups is a Jira feature that allows you to create an alias to represent a group of Jira users. If you are an admin...

  1. click on the icon in the top left
  2. click on Jira settings in the side bar
  3. click on User management in side bar
  4. click on Groups

here you can create a group and add members to the group

I am not following your instructions but it seems unrelated to Jira Software groups.
