how can more details be obtained on how to exploit this ? the information published online relating to it has no real substance to it. its old and been patched, so how can i obtain the info ?

Hi, welcome to the Atlassian Community

I don't think it's a common practice for Atlassian or other vendors to explain how to exploit a vulnerability exactly.
There can always be customers on unpatched versions even if a patch has been provided years ago.

agreed but most vulnerability reports have sufficient information to allow you to either understand clearly where the issue exists. you will find in the advisory insufficient information to even make this conclusion.
