how to restrict user making changes to status

we have AUDIT only user. Though they are given READ ONLY access, they could change the status of a JIRA ticket.

Please help on how to restrict them for not to change the status.

Hello,

You should revoke the Transition Issues permission from these users in the project permission scheme. You can find more info about project permissions here:
