how to make it a permission-based transition and assign it

Hi,

I have a screen with a field (Lead approval) which is part of a transition. I want to make this transition allowed by a single user (lead). How do I go about this?

Go into the workflow, and find the transition(s) you want to lock down.

Add a "condition" of "user is in custom field and select "Lead Approval". Save the workflow. The transition will only appear to the person named in the field.

(Note, my memory fails me slightly here - I am not sure you will have that condition with plain Jira. You might need to install the Jira Suite Utilities - a free plugin for download and OnDemand)
