i try to create a textual link (not a thumbnail link] to an image that when clicked will show the image in a popup within the same window rather than display the image in a new window

not working:

  • [^attachedimage.png] —> the resulting textual link will open in a new window/tab rather than in a popup
  • !attachedimage.png! or !attachedimage.png|thumbnail! —> the resulting link is not textual, but a thumbnail, but at least the image will show in a popup when the thumbnail is clicked

any ideas? i could not find anything useful:

thanx

Hello Tom,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

Checking some documentation and also testing on my local site, I'm afraid to say that there is no option to add a link to an image to open as a popup when using Wiki Markup.

Also, when adding a link to an image, if another user is using the new issue view that uses Markdown, it will show as a thumbnail.

With that said, the best option would be to use it as a thumbnail, so it will show the same if a user uses the old view with Wiki Markup or the new view with Markdown.

I didn't find any feature request suggesting this option, so please, feel free to raise one on jira.atlassian.com (project JRACLOUD) adding more details about why this feature is important for you and your team.

Regards,
Angélica
