how to configure workflow for next-gen projects

Hi,

I created a new workflow in the JIRA settings but I can not assign it to the NEW GEN projects that I have. My goal is to add "Cancelled" status to the issue, I have added that Status to the workflow and scheme is configured but how do I activate it? Very confused.

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

Next-gen projects are simpler than Classic ones and for small teams. With that said, some features were not implemented in next-gen and one of them is the ability to associate or edit a workflow.

The workflow in next-gen is the Board, that's the place where we can create, remove and edit statuses, but it's not possible to edit transitions, add post functions or validators, for example.

There is a feature request that is currently in progress:

• Ability to edit workflow in Next-gen project

Please, click on vote and watch to receive updates about the feature.

If your team needs to use a more complex workflow, the only workaround, for now, is to use a Classic project.
