how do you delete an issue?

I have several issues created by mistake. How do I delete them?

Click delete in the issue actions menu (the ... towards the top right)

However, delete issue is very final (as in, delete the wrong thing and you will need to restore backups by hand) so most places restrict it to a small group of trusted users, or disable it completely.  Have a look at the project's permissions, they give you the rule for who can delete.
