Hi Johanna - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

There is probably an automation rule that is running somewhere to does the update to Slack. Find the rule and disable it.

You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.

Sure - you will need Jira Admin permissions, but when the update happens, go to Settings > System > Global automations.

Then click on the Audit Log tab at the top. You should be able to see the rules that have fired most recently and determine which rule might be firing related to the Slack update.
