how can I add 'Releases' to the Sidebar on the left hand site?

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: What is a board?

Answer accepted

Make sure that your project has at least one version defined. A Kanban board will create one when you use the "release" button, or your project admins can add one in the UI or by trying to set one on an issue.
