finding a task in my backlog but leave whole backlog visible

kerryfrombenbrook November 28, 2023

Something I'd like is to easily locate an issue in my backlog so that I can see where I prioritized it and perhaps move it up or down (my backlog is quite large).  However, if I hit CTRL-F (the "Find" command in Chrome) to find it on the page, this is instead the "JIRA Search" and it replaces my Backlog view with one or more tasks that meet the search criteria.

I hope this makes sense.  thanks!

Hi @kerryfrombenbrook ,

The CTRL+F (of F) is a new way to find tickets in Team-managed type of projects. For Company-managed everything is working as it was before.

But for your specific case in order to achieve the view that you want is to:

  1. Search for your text (this would show you one or more tasks that match search criteria)search_01.png
  2. You select the specific task that you want to relocated in the backlog (using CTRL+click)search_02.png
  3. Then when a issue is selected you click on "Clear Filters" next to the search (this would move the view to the issue that you found and now you would be able to move it. search_03.png

Hope it helps!

Glad to hear that and hoping that you can continue to manage your (large) backlog easily!
