filter project, key, and component

I have a user looking to generate a filter that will list all projects in a category along with their project key and components.

Is there any way to do this via the GUI in JIRA 6.x?

Filters are for issues, not for projects.

You can display all the projects in a category but to display them along with components etc, you will need to create a custom report. Some development involved unless you can find some plugins from marketplace doing this already.
