I have a Jira space that has a entry form accepting user info for creating a task. A small dialog is displayed that the space is not setup to enable " any logged in user" , which may prevent other users from submitting the form.
we have JIRA and JSM app installed.
I have seen conflicting information that says if I enable this option in the permission set of the one jira space it would lend the permissions to JSM customers being allowed to browse and submit tasks, dependent on where i assign the permission. Is there a definitive answer to this anywhere I can use as reference ?
Hello and welcome @kevin_coleman
No, “Any logged in user” in a Jira permission scheme does not automatically give access to JSM customers.
That permission applies to users who can log in to Jira (licensed Jira users / people with Jira product access). JSM customers are usually portal-only, and their access is controlled separately via JSM customer permissions / portal access.
So:
If you enable Any logged in user, you may open the project to all Jira-licensed users on the site.
It still won’t be the right switch to allow JSM customers to browse/create via the portal/form.
For customers submitting requests/tasks, check the Service project customer permissions (who can raise requests, whether customers can create accounts, whether they must be added, etc.).
Perfect. This is the result I expected. Thanks for the URL as well..!!
